Basic Life Support online update

This course takes you through an online update of basic life support. This is a theoretical short course and does not provide a substitute for face to face sessions. It does however cover some of the basics processes and procedures advocated by the Resus Council that will help you do your best to save someone’s life if the worst happens.

Learning objectives:

  • We will highlight the relevant updates for vaccinators in the recent Resus Council.
  • We will go through the ABCDE approach to basic life support.
  • We will learn about the Resus Council’s basic life support algorithm.
  • We will describe how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
  • We will work through a real-world cardiac arrest example.
  • We will provide an update on how to put someone in the recovery position.
